LINKSYS USB100M COMPATIBILITY WITH VISTA 64-BIT
If you try to install this product under Vista 64-bit you will get an error that there is no such driver and it cannot find it. It does not recognize the drivers if you provide the driver diskette/cdrom or download.
The manufacturer has stated it is not Windows 7 or Vista 64-bit compatible.
DEVICE USES REALTEK RTL8150 CHIPSET...
It turns out that the device uses the RealTek RTL8150 chipset and REALTEK has 64-bit drivers here. However, if that page is gone or they are not there you can get them off TekOps' public mirror here.
INSTALLATION:
- Download the driver software, expand it into a folder,
- Then plug the USB adapter into a usb slot and wait for Vista to see it.
- Eventually it will give up, once that happens go browse to the folder and install.
It works. I'm writing this page from a Windows Vista Business 64-bit system that I just went through this issue with.
Good luck!
